Validate your vehicle particulars, AMAC tells motorists

The Abuja Municipal Council, AMAC, says it has commenced screening of vehicle particulars and called on motorists, especially commercial drivers operating in the Council area to validate their vehicle particulars without further delay.
The Council also called on private car owners to do same so as to save themselves from avoidable embarrassment.
According to Moses Aje, a staff of AMAC, the routine check was moved to area one to extend the tentacles of their search for all unregistered commercial vehicle in the FCT. We want to ensure that business vehicles plying the FCT routes are properly registered with AMAC. "We discovered that some of the cars especially the buses had studied us and were avoiding our known check points that was why we decided to bring the search to area one, we expect all business vehicles and all official vehicles to be registered duly with AMAC and those that fail to register would have their vehicles impounded".
He explained the registration rates to our correspondent which includes N16500 for commercial buses excluding the town service buses, N13500 for smaller vehicles which includes official cars with logos, N19500 for bigger cars like trailers. Aje said that the registration comes with a receipt of payment and other stickers that would be stuck to the cars for identification.
Metro gathered that the vehicle registration was organised to generate funds for the council, record purposes and also rid the roads of illegal vehicles. This annual registration stands as means of mobilising revenue for the council as it is compulsory for all commercial vehicles to be registered.
Moses used the interview to call upon all commercial car owners to cooperate and pay the money before their vehicles are impounded. "it is better for them to pay the dues at the beginning of the year so that you can utilize your money fully instead of dodging away from our team cause the check would be on till the end of the year".
